Baseball Hot Stove Banquet Plans Announced

Champaign, Ill. - Plans for the 2001 Baseball Hot Stove Banquet in recognition of the 2001 Illinois Baseball team have been set. The Banquet is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 3 at the Laborers Hall in Urbana and will feature former Illini and current Toronto Blue Jays All-Star catcher Darrin Fletcher.
Fletcher, who played at Illinois from 1985-87, holds a .276 career batting average and 110 career home runs over 12 major league seasons. Last season he hit a career-high .320 to go along with a career-high 20 home runs and 58 RBI for the Blue Jays, who finished third in the American League Eastern Divison.
The 2001 Hot Stove Banquet is scheduled to be held at the Laborers Hall, 108 E. Anthony Drive, Urbana. A cash bar will open at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. Tickets are $35 per person. A corporate table is available for $350 and includes nine tickets plus one Illinois player ticket. Corporate tables seat 10 and will include your nine tickets and the player you sponsor.
