    Honor Roll: Baseball America Midseason First-Team Sophomore All-American 2000 ¥ Second-Team All-Big Ten 2000

    2000: Eight saves ranked fourth on Illinois' single-season saves list and seventh on Illinois' career saves list ¥ Earned his first career save against No. 3 Houston in March ¥ Has a 2.68 ERA ¥ Threw 14 scoreless outings (out of 29 appearances) against Houston, Iowa (twice), Butler, Ball State, Northwestern (three times), Michigan, Michigan State (twice), Illinois State, Ohio State and Saint Joseph's ¥ Picked up two wins in one day against Northwestern ¥ Turned around and got Illinois out of a bases loaded, no one out jam in the bottom of the 10th against Northwestern the next day in a game Illinois eventually won in the 13th inning ¥ One of four Illini to own a perfect 0.00 ERA over the four games at Northwestern - Vorwald threw a total of 6 2/3 innings at NU ¥ Has only allowed five earned runs in the Big Ten ¥ Posted a team-low 2.29 ERA in conference action ¥ Appeared in a staff high 29 games ¥ Ranked third in the Big Ten with eight saves ¥ Had some sort of decision in 34 percent (14-41) of Illinois' wins and in 41 percent (7-17) of the team's Big Ten wins ¥ Missed the Big Ten Tournament and NCAA Regional because of an injury sustained at the tournament.
