    2002 - Threw two shutout innings to secure the series finale victory over Michigan State . . . Pitched three innings giving up one run and had four strikeouts against Illinois State . . . Started the series finale against Purdue while pitching three innings and giving up one earned run . . . Pitched five innings of one-run ball in Illinois’ 14-1 win against Western Michigan in game one of the series . . . Pitched 4 1/3 innings of relief against Massachusetts while giving up only one run on the Spring Trip . . . Pitched a shutout inning of relief to close out Illinois’ win against Northeastern.

    2001 - Freshman posted a 3-5 record in six starts and 14 appearances . . . Threw a complete game to win first career game vs. Louisville at Cardinal Baseball Classic . . . Allowed three runs on seven hits in seven innings of work against the Cardinals . . . Threw seven innings of solid relief against Washington at Illini Desert Classic to set up Illini win in extra innings . . . Struck out a career-high six against Washington . . . First Big Ten start came March 24 vs. Michigan State . . . Picked up first career Big Ten win in relief appearance at Ohio State - threw 1 2/3 innings, allowing one run on one hit in a game Illinois won 9-6 . . . That win at OSU was Illinois’ only win over a ranked team in 2001 . . . Threw one inning at the Big Ten Tournament, allowing two runs on one hit in Illinois’ second round game against Minnesota.

    High School - Earned varsity letters in baseball as a junior and senior . . . Compiled a 0.00 ERA through first 32 innings of work his senior year and put together a streak of 17-consecutive shutout innings . . . Struck out 76 in 55 innings as a senior . . . Earned all-conference and all-area honors as a senior and special mention all-area honors as a junior . . . Posted a 9-0 record for the Norwood Blues the summer after his junior year as the team went on to finish second in the nation.
