2006 Junior: Made 14 appearances, all out of the bullpen • Had a stellar inning of work vs. Missouri (5/17), striking out two in a perfect appearance • Pitched twice in the Iowa series, allowing just one hit in two scoreless innings of work • Also threw scoreless innings against Massachusetts and Cornell • Did not allow an earned run at Stetson, giving up two unearned runs on three hits and a walk in an inning • Allowed two hits in a scoreless 1 1/3 innings againist Cornell on 3/24 with one strikeout while earning his only win of the season.

2005 Sophomore: Illinois' top arm out of the bullpen, making 20 appearances and posting a 3.38 ERA • Posted most innings out of the pen and fourth-most on the team • Allowed opponents to hit only .222 for the season • Lefthanded hitters hit only .170 against Saving • Even better with two outs, holding foes to a .185 average • Had a career-long six-inning outing vs. Northwestern (5/7), allowing two runs on four hits and picking up the win in relief • Did not allow a run in 11 of 20 appearances, a total of 18 2/3 scoreless innings • Earned the save in game one vs. Michigan State (4/8), throwing 1 2/3 perfect innings with three strikeouts • Got the win in game two vs. MSU (4/9) by pitching three innings of two-hit shutout ball with four strikeouts • Recorded an extra-inning win at Southern Illinois, tossing three innings of one-hit shutout ball with four strikeouts • Recorded first save in game one at Indiana (4/22) and notched second at Penn State (4/30) • Began the season 4-0 before losing twice late • Earned the win in game two at Penn State before saving game three for the Illini • Pitched for the East Peoria Scrappers of the Central Illinois Collegiate League in summer of 2005 • Finished 2-2 with a 1.90 ERA for East Peoria in 23 2/3 innings, striking out 31 while walking nine and allowing a .169 opponents' batting average.

2004 Freshman: Made 12 appearances out of the bullpen in 2004 • Had scoreless conference outings against Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State • Season-high outing was against Western Michigan, going 2.2 innings while allowing one run on four hits.

Earned six varsity letters at Metamora: three each in baseball and golf • As a senior, had 93 strikeouts in 84 innings of work • Won 15 games between his junior and senior seasons • Earned all-conference honors in baseball, and was most valuable pitcher in baseball as a junior and senior and also earned team MVP honors in golf as a senior • Participated in McDonald's All-Star Game as both a junior and senior.
