AT ILLINOIS
2012 - Freshman: Made 12 appearances on the season, all out of the bullpen ... Went 0-0 with a 1.38 ERA, allowing 10 hits in 13 innings while striking out 10 ... Recorded scoreless appearances in 10 of 12 outings and four of his last five on the season ... Pitched six innings over six outings before giving up his first run as a collegiate pitcher on 3/30 ... Allowed only one run in five innings over five appearances after that outing ... Struck out five in 1 1/3 innings pitched against Ohio State (4/20), including a four-strikeout ninth inning ... Held opponents to a .213 batting average and posted a 1.00 WHIP, second-best on the team among pitchers with 10-plus innings pitched ... Allowed only one hit to left-handed hitters (1-for-15, .067) on the year ... Tied for ninth in the Big Ten in games finished (six) in conference games ... Played for the Crystal Lake Cardinals of the Chicago Suburban League with Illini teammate Will Krug during the summer.
