Earned 10 varsity letters at Manteno: four each in baseball and basketball and two in football • Finished his high school career with the most hits in Manteno baseball history, and the fourth-best batting average in school history • Also finished as the third all-time leading scorer in Manteno basketball history • An All-Conference performer in baseball, basketball and football • In addition, earned All-Area honors in basketball and baseball • Was the starting catcher at the Jack Kaiser All-Star Game at U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago • Also participated in the Illinois Coaches Association All-State game and the Kankakee Showcase game in baseball, and the IHSA state slam dunk contest in basketball.
