2002 – Saw limited action during the season, throwing one inning at Texas-Pan American and allowing two runs on two hits during the season’s opening weekend. 2001 - Appeared in seven games as a relief pitcher . . . Made Illini debut vs. Portland at Fresno State Classic . . . Pitched five scoreless innings, giving up three hits and striking out two against nationally ranked Notre Dame . . . Struck out two in three separate appearances . . . Threw 4 1/3 innings against Purdue, allowing four runs on five hits in game three of that series. 2000 - Redshirt season. High School - Earned three varsity letters in baseball and one in football at Downers South . . . As a senior posted a record of 12-0 while hitting .408 with 44 RBI . . . Named all-conference, all-area and all-state as a senior . . . Also the Daily Herald and Suburban Life DuPage Player of the Year . . . Started the Illinois Coaches Association All-Star game and threw two perfect innings in the West Suburban Gold all-conference game. Personal - Parents are Leslie and Gail Lechowicz . . .
