2002 – Threw 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief at Bradley . . . Allowed three runs on four hits in three innings of work in a relief appearance against Michigan . . . Started game three against Purdue, winning his first Big Ten game after pitching five innings while giving up one earned run and striking out three . . . Pitched 6 1/3 innings while striking out four in his first Big Ten start in game four against Indiana . . . Illinois’ closer before assuming a starting role at the beginning of Big Ten play, had two saves in early non-conference action . . .
