    2003 - Appeared in 34 games, starting 21, mostly as Illinois' primary left-handed DH • Tallied four multi-hit games on the year • Went 2-for-3 with a season-high three RBI in game two against Indiana University • Ended up with two home runs and 16 RBI • Best series was against Indiana where he hit .400 (4-for-10) with two runs scored, a home run and four RBI • Played for the Decatur Blues of the CICL over the summer.

    2002 - Started 10 games in the designated hitter slot • Collected a pinch hit two-run single for the game-winning RBI in game three against Penn State • Picked up a hit and scored two runs in the second game of the doubleheader against Purdue • Hit a double to drive in a run in game two against Purdue • Went 2-for-3 in the first game of the Blackburn doubleheader • Played for the CICL's Twin City Stars over the summer • Earned CICL All-League honors with a .268 average, three home runs and 17 RBI over the summer.

    2001 - Back-up catcher started 19 games, three at catcher and 16 as the designated hitter • Appeared in 31 games • Raised average 137 points over the last three weeks of the season • In that span hit .452 (14-for-31) with four doubles and a home run • Hit .232 with four doubles and a home run in 69 at bats • Enjoyed best game of his career against Purdue at the Big Ten Tournament, going 3-for-4 with two doubles • Followed that up with a 2-for-3, four RBI performance in the next game against Minnesota • Hit his first career home run against the Gophers at the tournament • Collected first career double against Indiana; hit .333 against the Hoosiers with two doubles • Got game-winning RBI with a run-scoring single in game three at Michigan • Hit a team-high .500 at Michigan with two RBI • Caught final game of Purdue series • Scored game-winning run on a Brady Ballard single in game one against Indiana • Seven of his 11 RBI (64 percent) came with two outs • First career hit came on March 16 against nationally ranked Notre Dame at the Pepsi/Johnny Quik Fresno State Classic in front of family and friends in California.

    2000 - Redshirt season.

    High School - Lettered in football, basketball and baseball at Fremont High School and in baseball at Valley Christian • A two-time all-league selection • Junior team finished 27-3-1 and ranked No. 10 in California and No. 2 in Division IV • Received KICU Channel 36 "High School Sports Focus" scholar-athlete award as a junior.

    Personal - Parents are Dave and Mary Carole Frederickson • Majoring in speech communications • Lists biggest thrill in sports as hitting a two-run home run to win a playoff game • Favorite athlete is Cal Ripken because he "overcomes all obstacles to play for the love of the game" • Both parents are Illinois alums • Lists his father as the biggest influence on his athletic career because he coached him in his Little League years.
