ROSEMONT, Ill. – The women's golf preseason honorees were announced by the Big Ten Conference on Wednesday, and three Fighting Illini were recognized: Stephanie Miller, Chayanid Prapassarangkul and Bing Singhsumalee.
Miller, a senior and native of Elgin, Illinois, is being recognized for the fourth time. She played in all 11 tournaments last season, and posted three top-25 finishes. Miller is also the first Illini to qualify for the NCAA Regionals as a freshman.
Prapassarangkul is on the list for the third time in three seasons. The junior from Bangkok, Thailand led the team with 402 holes at par last season, and posted the fourth-best season stroke average (74.91) in program history last year.
An All-Big Ten selection last year, Singhsumalee is making her first appearance on the list. The sophomore from Naperville, Illinois was also named to the All-Tournament team after the Big Ten Championship, following her fourth place finish at the event.
Illinois will begin the 2016-17 season on Sept. 12 in Knoxville, Tennessee, at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate hosted by Tennessee.
