After day off, Training Camp continues with Practice No. 7 in sweltering heat
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – After a day off on Wednesday, the Fighting Illini returned to the practice fields on Thursday for a spirited two-hour and fifteen minute session in sweltering heat.
"We learned a lot more about our football team today," head coach Lovie Smith said after practice No. 7. "We're going to play a lot of 2:30 games when the weather will be hot, so we'll have to use this as our home field advantage. It's good work for our guys."
The Orange and Blue will return to the practice fields on Friday over lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Illini will then practice Saturday night inside Memorial Stadium from 7-9 p.m. All Training Camp practices are open to the public and free to attend.
