CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - New Fighting Illini head football coach Lovie Smith has announced 2016 spring practice dates, including an open practice at Memorial Stadium on Saturday, April 16, at 1 p.m.
Since the start of spring practice was pushed back due to the coaching change (it was initially slated to start on March 11), the public practice on April 16 (practice No. 10) will take the place of the annual Orange and Blue Spring Game.
Admission and parking for the April 16 open practice is free. Additional details about the scrimmage can be found here.
The Fighting Illini will begin spring practices on Friday, April 1, with the first of 15 workouts. The final practice will be on Tuesday, April 26. The spring schedule also includes the annual Illinois High School Football Coaches Association Clinic (IHSFCA) March 31-April 2 in Champaign.
