CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Illinois junior right-hander Cody Sedlock was listed as the No. 3 Big Ten prospect for the 2016 MLB Draft by D1Baseball.com, the publication announced Monday. Sedlock previously earned top 40 rankings on D1Baseball.com's and Baseball America's national prospect ratings.
Sedlock was 4-0 with a 4.02 ERA as a sophomore last season. He helped the Illini win 50 games and the Big Ten title on the way to the program's first NCAA Regional championship. He threw 31.1 innings last season, including allowing no earned runs over 2.0 innings against Vanderbilt in the NCAA Super Regional.
Sedlock and the Illini open the 2016 season Feb. 19 at Tulane.
