Fighting Illini men's tennis alum Kevin Anderson defeated Andy Murray in four sets Monday night at the U.S. Open to reach his first ever Quarfetinal in a major. [15] Anderson upset [3] Murray 7-6, 6-3, 6-7, 7-6 to secure his first victory over a over a top-10 player in a Grand Slam. 

Up next for Anderson is [5] Stan Wawrinka in the Quartefinals.
