Hi Illini Fans!
We had a blast competing in the Minnesota Invitational presented by Land-O-Lakes at Minikahda Golf Club this fall. Finishing third as a team, I have to say that we had a successful start to our fall season!
The trip started off with good-luck posters that Emily Joers made. Thanks for the posters, Emily! On the way to Minneapolis, we stopped for lunch at Stephanie Miller's house where Jan (Chayanid Prapassarangkul) had her first-ever taco. She said she liked it! My favorite dish at the Miller's was the secret family recipe Japanese fried chicken.
The weather was beautiful throughout the whole weekend. We finished our first round with the score of 289 and tied for second place. We continued to put ourselves in great position during the final two rounds and managed to finish third as a team while only three strokes behind the winning team, Purdue. Our freshman, Bing Singhsumalee, shot an amazing first round of 66 and finished tied for eighth! Well done, Bing! This tournament showed how much potential we have and how much we have improved since last year. We will keep our game rolling!
The experience, overall, that Minikahda Golf Club provided the players and coaches was top notch! There were so many volunteers and club members out supporting the event.
GO ILLINI!
