Hello Illini Nation!

We had a quick turn-around between our first and second tournaments of the season! We made the drive down to Tennessee for the Mercedes-Benz Invitational. The scenic views were second to none when going through the mountains.

This was a new event for us, and it was a lot of fun! The course was designed by Donald Ross, which always provides for a fun challenge. It wasn't a very long course, but Mr. Ross certainly tested our skills on and around the greens. The greens were quite undulated and you had to be precise with placement to give yourself a good opportunity for birdie. The team did a good job of handling the challenges and we learned from them as well. We applied what we learned and used it to move up the leaderboard the final day!

Besides the fun golf, we had some awesome dinners! There was a lot of delicious southern food that we don't usually get back at home. Additionally, there was fresh peach and apple cobbler that was to die for! They also provided us with Panera bagels for breakfast along with a ton of other snacks throughout the day. It was a very fun event and we can't wait to come back next year!
