TEAM NOTES

• Illinois fell to 4-4 overall and 1-3 in the Big Ten.
• Penn State leads the all-time series against Illinois, 18-5, including a 9-1 mark at University Park.
• Illinois has won three of its last six and four of its last nine B1G games dating back to last season. In the 25 Big Ten games prior to the last nine, the Fighting Illini were 1-24.
• Illinois blocked both of Penn State's first two extra-point attempts; the first time the Illini blocked two kicks in a game since 2003 at Purdue. It was the first time Penn State had an extra point blocked since Virginia in 2012. Illinois entered the weekend ranked No. 5 in the nation with three blocked kicks, two behind Temple's five for the national lead.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES

• Senior WR Geronimo Allison had four receptions for 34 yards. He entered the game as the Big Ten leader in receptions (6.9) and was one of two Big Ten players averaging over 100 yards per game (100.0).

• Freshman RB Ke'Shawn Vaughn had a career-high six receptions for 33 yards receiving.
• Senior DB Clayton Fejedelem, the team's leading tackler, had 13 tackles, 1.0 TFL and one forced fumble. He entered the game ranked No. 2 in the Big Ten in tackles.
• Junior LEO Dawuane Smoot had 1.0 sack to increase his team lead to 6.0 sacks this season. Smoot has at least 1.0 sack in four of the last five games.
• Redshirt freshman LB Tre Watson registered his first career sack during the second quarter.
