KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – Illinois Women's Golf is headed for the final competition of its fall campaign as the Orange and Blue are slated to compete in the Palmetto Intercollegiate hosted by the College of Charleston in Kiawah Island, South Carolina. Action will span three days, starting Sunday, Oct. 25 and lasting through Tuesday, Oct. 27, with 18 holes scheduled for each day from the Turtle Point Golf Course.
Traveling for the Orange and Blue this week will be freshman Bing Singhsumalee; sophomores Grace Park, Dana Gattone, and Chayanid Prapassarangkul; as well as junior Stephanie Miller. The lineup has stayed consistent across the fall for Renee Slone's crew.
Other teams that will be competing in the Palmetto Intercollegiate 20-team field include: College of Charleston, Augusta, Boise State, Boston, Campbell, Charleston Southern, Chattanooga, Coastal Carolina, East Tennessee State, Furman, Kansas, Kennesaw State, Louisville, Maryland, South Florida, Stetson, Tulsa, Virginia Tech and Xavier. The field includes four squads found in the top 50 of the most recent Golfweek/Sagarin rankings (Louisville, 21; Furman, 34; Campbell, 43; Augusta, 44).
Play opens on Sunday, Oct. 25 with teams opening on either the first of 10th hole at 8 a.m. CT to commence 18-holes of play. On Tuesday, the second round begins again at 8 a.m. CT. Final round action will open at 7:30 a.m. CT Tuesday morning with a shot gun start. Live scoring is available from Golfstat.com.
