Brian V. Walsh started his career at the University of Illinois Division of Intercollegiate in December 2003. Initially, Walsh served as the Coordinator of the Armory Track & Floor. In fall 2004, the position was expanded to include being Event Manager for men's and women's Track & Field / Cross Country.
Due to an unexpected departure in the Office of Sport Camps & Clinics, Walsh was also given an opportunity to assume the duties of Director of Fighting Illini Sport Camps & Clinics in February 2007. It was not until June 2007 that Walsh handed off the Armory and Event Management duties to the current staff person.
In Walsh's current role as Director of Fighting Illini Sport Camps & Clinics, he oversees a unit that coordinates all aspects of camp & clinic activity that generates over 7000 annual attendees.
Before coming to Illinois, Walsh was a track & field / cross country coach at St. Mary's University in Winona (MN). While at St. Mary's, Walsh earned a masters in sport administration from the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse. Walsh's employment history also includes several positions at his alma mater, North Central College, Naperville (IL), where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in marketing in 1994.
He and his wife, Nancy, live in Champaign.
