Freddie Walker is entering his first season as Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for Football. Walker is responsible for planning and implementation of all resistance-training and conditioning for the Fighting Illini football program.
Prior to arriving at the University of Illinois, he served as a graduate assistant at Michigan State University, working with the Spartans' 2010 Big Ten and 2011 Big Ten - Legends Division championship football teams.
He earned a degree in Kinesiology specializing in Exercise Science from Bowling Green State University in 2009, as well as being a former walk-on and letter winner for the Falcons. A native of Lansing, Mich., Walker is a graduate of Grand Ledge High School in Grand Ledge, Michigan.
