Mike Maziarz joined the Academic Services staff at the University of Illinois in August 2012 as a Graduate Assistant; Maziarz currently serves as the Tutor Coordinator and Academic Counselor for the Fighting Illini Men's Gymnastics, Women's Gymnastics, and Swimming & Diving teams while assisting in summer grant-in-aid duties. In addition, he has taught and assisted in planning and executing programming for the Illini Life Skills Program and helps manage the study table program at the Irwin Academic Services Center. The Pana, IL native graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S in Management from Millikin University in 2011, in addition to, earning Prestigious Academic All-American honors while completing his A.A. in Journalism from Lincoln Land Community College in 2009. In May 2014, Maziarz earned his M.S. in Sport Management from the University of Illinois. At Lincoln Land Community College and Millikin University he was a member of the Loggers and Big Blue baseball teams, earning the Region XXIV Rawlings Gold Glove in 2009.

Maziarz is a member of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics (N4A) and was selected to attend the NCAA Emerging Leaders Seminar in January 2014. In his free time he enjoys spending time with family, traveling, watching sporting events, and rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals. He currently resides in Champaign.
