John Marquardt was named Event and Safety Coordinator for the Assembly Hall in August of 2007. Marquardt joined the Assembly Hall and Division of Intercollegiate Athletics as an Event Management intern in 2005.
Marquardt's primary role is to facilitate the coordination of Assembly Hall concerts, sporting events, and other shows and events, as well as oversee Assembly Hall Event Staff. He also oversees facility safety, security and emergency preparedness initiatives for the Assembly Hall.
Marquardt currently serves as Illinois State Representative for the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM).
A native of Urbana, Ill., Marquardt earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois in 2006. He completed his master's degree in Sport Management from the University of Illinois in 2010.
