Jason Lener was named executive senior associate athletics director in December 2011. Lener served as deputy athletic director at Miami University from 2006-11, where he led the athletic department senior management team and managed daily operations for the department. He also served as the sport administrator for football and men's basketball, and was the principal liaison with Miami's budget and finance office, general counsel's office, human resources, information technology, the NCAA and the Mid-American Conference.
A native of Hermitage, Pa., Lener earned his bachelor's degree from Westminster College (New Wilmington, Pa.) in 1993, where he was a three-year letterwinner as a quarterback in the Titan football program from 1990-92. He went on to earn his MBA from Robert Morris University in 1996 with an emphasis in sports administration while he was a graduate assistant with the football program.
Lener began his administrative career as assistant director of ticket operations at Pittsburgh in 1996 before being named director of ticket operations from 1997-99. In 1999, he was named the director of finance at Pittsburgh and he was promoted to assistant athletic director for business, finance and personnel. He accepted his current position at Miami in 2006.
Jason and his wife, Jodi, have three children, McKinley, Callan and Cole.
