Associate Athletic Trainer

Laingen begins her third season as an associate athletic trainer at Illinois in 2014-15, working primarily with the women's basketball team. She joined the Illini after serving as the head athletic trainer for Eastern Illinois University from 2009-12. She headed the coverage of the Panthers' women's basketball and volleyball teams while also overseeing coverage of tennis, swmming and cheerleading. In 2012, Laingen was the chairperson of the Ohio Valley Conference Sports Medicine Committee. Laingen is a 2001 graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a bachelor of science degree in health promotion and education with an emphasis in athletic training. She received a master of science degree in exercise science from Syracuse University in 2004. Laingen became an NATA-BOC certified athletic trainer in 2002 and is an Illinois Division of Professional Regulation licensed athletic trainer. Laingen has been an approved clinicial instructor for the CAATE Accredited Athletic Training Program for the past six years. Laingen has had two other stops in her career, serving as assistant athletic trainer at Kansas State from 2004-06 and at Ohio State from 2006-09. At Kansas State, she worked with women's basketball and cheerleading. At Ohio State, she worked with men's soccer and softball.

Laingen and her husband, Chris, have a son, Kenny, and a daughter, Edy. Updated September 2014
