Jeff Jahnel came to the University of Illinois in 2009 and works primarily with the Fighting Illini wrestling and men's golf teams.
Prior to Illinois he was the staff athletic trainer for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga wrestling and tennis teams from 2006-2009.
Jeff has been extensively involved with USA Wrestling over the past several years working the U.S. Senior National Championships in 2008 & 2009 and the Cadet/ Junior National Championships in 2009 & 2010. As well as traveling to Nicaragua for the Junior Pan American Championships in 2010 and Bulgaria for the Junior World Championships in 2013.
The North Liberty, IA native is a 2004 graduate of the University of Iowa where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Athletic training and worked as a student athletic trainer for the Hawkeye wrestling and football teams. He then went on to earn his Masters Degree in Kinesiology from Illinois State University in 2006 while working as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for the Redbird football and baseball teams.
Jeff, his wife Amy and their son Gabriel reside in Tolono, IL.
