Warren Hood was promoted to senior associate athletics director in 2012. He was named associate director of athletics for external operations in June 1999, during which time he was responsible for the coordination of all external departments within the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics, including Big Ten Network, Marketing and Promotions, Multimedia Revenue Areas (corporate sponsorship, Illini Radio Network, e-commerce, licensing), New Media and Creative Services, Public and Media Relations and Video Production.
From 2004-09, he developed and directed the strategic plan for the $123 million renovation of Memorial Stadium. Identified as the Illinois Renaissance project, it included the addition of a north grandstand, nine-story west side pavilion that houses premium seating (suites, indoor and outdoor clubs), press, and public concourses and a 40,000 sq. ft personal performance center which contains a state-of-the-art weight room and recruiting area. He also served as a consultant for the current renovation project at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif.
A member of the senior management staff, one of his main areas of focus is identifying and developing new business opportunities. During his career he has been responsible for more than $150 million in corporate sales with Fortune 500 companies.
He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Illinois. He, his wife, Denise, and two children reside in Champaign.
