Cory Harbor currently serves as one of the three full time Academic Counselors that oversees the University of Illinois football team's academic progress. He began his career in Intercollegiate Athletics as a football student-athlete at Missouri State University in 2004 where he lettered four years and won Missouri State University Defensive Lineman of the year in 2008.
While earning his bachelor's degree, Harbor interned with the Springfield Cardinals, the AA affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. Upon earning his undergraduate degree, Harbor began graduate school studies while simultaneously interning with the Missouri State University Athletics Department. Harbor ultimately earned a full time position as an Academic Counselor at Missouri State University in August of 2010 where his responsibilities included supervising the academic progress of the football, men's basketball and soccer teams. In June 2011, Harbor joined the Fighting Illini family as an Academic Counselor.
A native of Dwight, Ill., Harbor earned his bachelor's degree in Private and Commercial Recreation Management from Missouri State University in 2009 and his master's degree in Sports Administration from Missouri State University in 2010. He and his fiancé, Nicole, are excitingly awaiting their Spring 2012 wedding.
