Brittany Gillenwater joined the sports medicine team in the fall of 2011. She currently works as an assistant athletic trainer with Illinois' women soccer and women's golf team. Before coming to the University of Illinois Brittany worked at Emory University in Atlanta as a graduate assistant athletic trainer primarily with women's basketball and men's and women's tennis teams. During this time she also obtained her master's degree from Georgia State University. She received her M.S. in Sports Medicine in 2011.
Prior to this, she attended the University of Michigan where she received her bachelor of science with specialization in athletic training in 2009. Brittany has also had the opportunity to work with several women's soccer national teams traveling to the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, CA and La Manga Spain. She currently resides in Champaign, Ill., with her fiancé Mark.
