Erik T. Silis was named the Compliance Monitoring Coordinator for the University of Illinois in May 2013. Beginning his career at Division III Wheaton College (Illinois), Silis served as an intern for Athletics Director Dr. Tony Ladd in Spring 2010. Following his internship, Silis moved to Austin, Texas to enroll in graduate school at The University of Texas. At Texas, Silis served as a Graduate Assistant with the Customer Relations Program and the Athletics Compliance Office during the 2010-2011 Academic Year.
In September 2011, Silis was hired as the Compliance Operations Assistant for The University of Texas Athletics Risk Management and Compliance Services Office and, in March 2013, was promoted to Assistant Coordinator. At Texas, Silis was responsible for monitoring and educational efforts across Bylaws 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 16.
A native of Saint Charles, Illinois, Silis earned his Bachelor's degree in Sport Management from the University of Illinois in 2010 and his Master's degree in Education from The University of Texas in 2012. He is a member of the National Association for Athletics Compliance (NAAC) and has a dog named Griswold.
