Dan Bolsen is in his second-year as a Graduate Assistant for the Academic Services department. He joined the staff in May of 2013.
Bolsen works alongside the Tutor Coordinator in managing the GradesFirst system and setting student-athletes up with tutors. He also coordinates and manages the Academic Services Twitter account (@IlliniIrwin), assists the Life Skills Coordinator with the Hometown Heroes program and RST 199 course for student-athletes, and works to help maintain the Academic Services website.
A native of Lovington, IL, Bolsen received a B.A. in Communication and B.S. in Sport Management from Eureka College in Eureka, IL, in 2013. While at Eureka, Bolsen earned four varsity letters (one in basketball; three in football) and was the first Red Devils football player to be named to the Academic All-UMAC Team for three consecutive years. He was awarded a four-year fellowship with the prestigious Ronald Reagan Leadership Program, served as President of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the Communication Club, while doing the public address announcing for five varsity sports.
Bolsen is a member of the National Association of Athletic Development Directors, and he is currently pursuing a M.S. in Sport Management.
Bolsen resides in Savoy, IL.
