Troy Collier is in his 4th season as an academic counselor at the University of Illinois.
Prior to joining the University of Illinois staff in January 2008, Collier was an assistant coach for men's basketball for eight years. He served as an assistant coach at Ball State University, Missouri State University and Eastern Illinois University.
Collier earned his bachelor's degree in Sociology from Eastern Illinois in Charleston, Ill., in 1994. Collier earned his MBA and master's degree in Sports Administration from the University of Illinois in 1996. After this achievement, Collier spent three years as a human relations and labor relations representative for Hamilton Standard-United Technologies in Connecticut.
Collier, who is a native of Danville, Ill., is married to Hayonna, and they have one son, Aaron.
