Drew Claassen was named assistant director of group sales and marketing in May 2012. In his role, he is the primary contact for group sales for football, volleyball, men's basketball and women's basketball.
Claassen began his career in athletics as a marketing intern at Kansas State University from 2007-2009. From 2009-2011, he served as a graduate assistant for the K-State fan experience & sales office where he oversaw the marketing efforts for women's basketball and was the secondary contact for football and men's basketball. While at K-State, he also coordinated the gameday experience for volleyball and baseball.
Claassen was named a marketing associate at Iowa State University in 2011 where he developed the marketing strategies for women's basketball, soccer, and softball. His efforts for women's basketball contributed to Iowa State winning the NACMA Marketing Team of the Year award in 2012. He also served as the Director of Marketing for the 2012 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship first and second rounds in Ames, Iowa.
A native of rural Whitewater, Kan., Claassen earned his bachelor's degree in marketing from Kansas State University in 2009 and completed his master's in college student development with an emphasis in intercollegiate athletics at K-State in 2011.
