Coach Burkart came to Illinois after spending two seasons at the University of Florida assisting with both baseball and football and overseeing softball. Prior to his experience at UF, Burkart had a brief stint working with West Virginia basketball, and spent two years at Bowling Green State University where he worked with, football, golf, basketball, women's soccer and hockey.
Burkart played football at Bowling Green State University from 2001- 2005. He is a native of Columbus, Ohio, and attended Bishop Watterson High School.
