Head Football Athletic Trainer

Scott Brooks was named the University of Illinois head football athletic trainer in May 2012. He began his career helping student athletes while attending Atchison High School in his hometown of Atchison, Kan. Scott then went on to Highland Community College and Kansas State University, graduating in 2001 with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology and working throughout as an athletic training student. Following his graduation from K-State, Scott worked at Manhattan High School as the head athletic trainer from 2001-2005.

In 2005, Brooks had a strong desire to return to the college campus, accepting a position at the University of Tulsa while working on his master's in health care administration from Oklahoma State University. After graduating from Oklahoma State in 2007, Scott accepted an intern football athletic trainer position at Michigan State. The University of Miami was Scott's next stop on his way to Illinois. There, Scott assisted the football, swimming and diving and track and field teams.

Throughout his career as an athletic trainer he has been able to assist future professional athletes, NFL stars, NCAA champions and Olympic athletes. Scott is a certified athletic trainer and member of the NATA. He resides in Champaign.
