Dave Andrews was hired in January 2012 as the associate football strength and conditioning coach for football at the University of Illinois. Andrews previously worked at the University of Cincinnati as the Head Olympic Strength and Conditioning Coach where he directed the strength and conditioning programs for 17 of Cincinnati's 18 sports.
Andrews was a part of the Bearcats' strength training staff since 2005 where he worked with all varsity teams. He originally went to Cincinnati as a graduate assistant football coach in 2004 and served in that role during the 2004 season.
A native of Ohio, Andrews was a letterwinner on the Ohio State 2002 national championship football team. He launched his strength coaching career at OSU in 2003, serving as a student intern on the Buckeyes' conditioning staff.
Andrews earned his bachelor`s degree at Ohio State in 2004, majoring in education, and then later received his master's degree from the University of Cincinnati in 2011. He and his wife, Hallie, have a daughter, Ella, and a son, Emerson.
