The University of Illinois' Division of Intercollegiate Athletics announced today the hiring of Chris R. Tuttle as Assistant Director of Development for the DIA based out of its development office in Chicago. Tuttle is a two-time graduate of the University of Illinois, earning a B.S. in accounting in May of 1998 and a Masters degree in sports management in May of 2000. He recently served as the graduate assistant in the Fighting Illini Scholarship Fund/Varsity "I" office, coordinating events, developing fundraising plans and developing a former letterwinner database.

Tuttle has worked for the DIA in a variety of positions for the past four years. While serving as a graduate assistant for FISF, he was also vice-president in charge of Orange Krush, the Illini Pride student support group. He was also an office and event coordinator for the University football recruiters.

In his new role as assistant director of development, Tuttle will provide support to the directors of development for the FISF offices in Champaign and Chicago and the Varsity "I" Association, serving as a liaison with donors, alumni and volunteers for the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He will begin work immediately.

"Chris is an excellent addition to our staff," Director of Development Shawn Wax said. "He's worked closely with many facets of our development office, has a great understanding of our goals and what we're trying to accomplish."
