CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - It's a busy weekend for Fighting Illini fans across the state with several marquee events, including the Illini football Chicago Homecoming game at Soldier Field, taking place in both Chicagoland and on campus over the next three days.

Football Chicago Homecoming vs. Washington (5 p.m. at Soldier Field)

The Fighting Illini (2-0) look to continue their hot start on Saturday when they head to the Windy City to host No. 19/23 Washington at Soldier Field for Chicago Homecoming (5 p.m. CT, BTN). Prior to the game starting at 1 p.m., Fighting Illini Athletics, the University of Illinois Foundation and University of Illinois Alumni Association, will be hosting a FREE "Illini Fest" tailgate event prior to the Sept. 14 Chicago Homecoming game at Soldier Field. Illini Fest features free admission for live music, games and snaks, a jumbotron showing other college football games and food and beer for purchase.

The Illini will face elite competition at Olympia Fields.

Men's Golf at Olympia Fields, Sept. 13-15 | Preview | Live Scoring
Just over three months removed from its historic runner-up finish at the 2013 NCAA Championships, the University of Illinois men's golf team opens its 2013 fall season at the eighth-annual Olympia Fields Country Club/Fighting Illini Invitational Friday through Sunday against an eerily familiar field. Defending NCAA champion Alabama will be there, along with Texas, which Illinois eliminated by a 3-2 margin in the NCAA quarterfinals. Also in the field are 2013 NCAA Championships participants Arkansas, Florida, Florida State, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech. The 15-team field will compete at the par-70, 7,142-yard Olympia Fields Country Club North Course, which has hosted two U.S. Opens, two PGA Championships, five Western Opens and a U.S. Senior Open among many other championships

Tennis at Olympia Fields - Sept 13-15 | Preview
The Illinois men's tennis team kicks off their fall season this weekend with the seventh annual Olympia Fields Country Club Fighting Illini Invitational. The three-day event starting at 9 a.m. CT Friday will take place on the clay courts at Olympia Fields and will also play host to Notre Dame, Kentucky, Memphis, Virginia and Texas. Both singles and doubles rounds will occur throughout the weekend. Coaches will attempt to flip school match-ups as they deem fit to get a variety of competition and discuss the best match-up for determining the Most Outstanding Player. Admission is free and fans are welcome to watch the competition unfold at the Olympia Fields Country Club.

Stricker/Points at BMW Championship - Conway Farms GC in Lake Forest, Ill. - Sept. 12-14
A pair of former Illini are playing in the PGA Tour FedEx Cup playoff event this weekend at Conway Farms GC in Lake Forest. Steve Stricker enters the tournament eighth in the overall FedEx cup standings, while D.A. Points is 21st. The top 30 players in the standings at the end of the weekend will advance to the season-ending Tour Championship next week. Leaderboard

#14 Volleyball hosts Illini Classic - Sept. 13-14 | Preview | Tournament Central
Illinois volleyball hosts No. 2 Texas, No. 6 Washington, #27 Arizona State and Youngstown State in the 30th annual Illini Classic on Sept. 12-14, 2013. The Illini get started on Friday morning with Arizona State, then Friday night the Fighting Illini host No. 6 Washington in the eighth annual "Stuff Huff" match at 7:30 p.m. The Illini are 7-0 since the promotion began in 2006, with the Illini defeating No. 15 Iowa State, 3-0, in front of a monster crowd of 3,770 in the 2012 home opener. The Illini then host defending national champion and 2nd-ranked Texas on Saturday night at 7 p.m. at Huff Hall.

Soccer hosts Indiana State & Flordia International | Preview
Illinois will welcome Indiana State (Friday, 7 p.m.) and Florida International (Sunday, noon) to Champaign this weekend. Friday night's game will feature a pair of promotions with Camper Reunion and Illinois FC Night. In addition, a new scoreboard on the south end of the field will be fired up for the first time. At Sunday's game the Illini will host Youth Soccer Day, where youth soccer players are encouraged to wear their jersey and participate in a free clinic after the game.

Softball games on Sunday
Fighting Illini softball host Nebraska-Omaha (10:30 a.m.) and Wright State (3:30 p.m.) at Eichelberger Field on Sunday in fall exhibition games. Admission is free.
