CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- The fifth annual Illini Jock Jams event was a huge success, raising nearly $11,000 for for three charities. The variety act/talent show featuring University of Illinois student-athletes took place on Feb. 25 and drew nearly 1,400 fans to Huff Hall.

The money raised will be divided between the American Red Cross, to assist families affected by the 2013 Central Illinois tornados, Camp Kesem, a summer camp run by college students for kids who have parents with cancer, and the Chez Family Center for Wounded Veterans in Higher Education, which is here at the University of Illinois. In five years, Jock Jams has raised over $70,000 for charity.
