The Big Ten Network announced its television and Student U broadcast schedules for baseball and softball on Thursday, and at least 27 Illini events will be shown throughout the 2013 season.

Two Illinois baseball games will be aired on BTN and BTN2Go, and 11 more will be broadcast on the Big Ten Digital Network through the BTN Student U initiative. Illini softball will have three BTN broadcasts and 11 will be shown on the Big Ten Digital Network. As each season progresses, BTN will select five more softball games and four more baseball games to air. The semifinals and championship of the Big Ten softball tournament and every game of the Big Ten baseball tournament will be carried live on BTN.

BTN will air the series finale between Nebraska and the Fighting Illini at Eichelberger Field on Sunday, March 31, which will cap the Huskers' first-ever trip to Champaign. That game will be tape-delayed to 2 p.m. Central time. Both games of Illinois' doubleheader at Iowa on Tuesday, April 23, will be aired live. The Illini's first two games of the Nebraska series will be streamed on BTDN, as will the April 3 game against Indiana State, April 17 vs. DePaul, April 19 vs. Indiana, the entire three-game series at Michigan State (April 26-28) and the three-game set against Ohio State (May 3-5).

On the baseball side, the Illini's first BTN and BTN2Go appearance will be when they host Purdue on Sunday, April 14. Illinois also will be on BTN for their series finale at Ohio State on Sunday, April 21. The Orange and Blue will have 11 games on BTDN: April 13 against Purdue, at Ohio State (April 19) and the entire three-game series against Northwestern (April 26-28), at Michigan State (May 3-5) and at Minnesota (May 16-18).
