Hi Illini fans!
Last weekend we went on a training trip to Nashville, Tennessee. Although we are all very grateful for Demirjian which allows us to practice during this year's longer winter season, it was very nice to be able to play and practice hitting off of grass for a couple of days. Our team has been keeping track of a little competition among ourselves where we were divided into team Blue and Orange. This weekend, in order to keep a competitive mindset, we continued our matches on the course.
On Saturday we played and practiced at Westhaven Golf Club. The weather was perfect, and the course was in great condition. It was about 65 and sunny out. On Sunday we played and practiced at Gaylord Springs Golf Club. Even though it was a little colder out, it was nothing we haven't seen before and we were all prepared for the morning coolness. We were some of the first ones out on the course and they were nice enough to let us play as many holes as we could prior to our departure. Even though we originally planned on playing 9 holes, all of us got a chance to play 12 or more, while speedy Jackie and Michelle finished the whole round!
After we were done playing, we worked on certain areas of our games to prepare us for the upcoming tournament at the 3M Jaguar in Augusta, Georgia. We all took advantage of the time we had there and made the most out of every minute. I am very excited for the team and I believe that we are going to do great. We have gained more confidence in our game over the weekend and are ready to go low, smash records, and bring home some hardware from Georgia. We would like to thank both Westhaven Golf Club and Gaylord Springs Golf Club for a warm welcome and for enabling us to prepare ourselves for this weekend. Don't forget to follow us for updates on upcoming tournaments!
Have a great day!
