A total of 12 former Illini are on active rosters of NFL playoff teams. During the Wildcard weekend, eight of those 12 players were in action, while nine will take part in next week's Divisional round. Here are the highlights from Wildcard weekend.
Hugh Thornton, OL, Indianapolis Colts - Started and helped the Colts pile-up 536 total yards to overcome a 28-point second-half deficit in a 45-44 win over the Chiefs. Watch Thornton (#69) pull and help pave the way for a 10-yard Donald Brown TD run. Thornton also was involved in Andrew Luck's can't-miss improv TD. Thornton and the Colts will travel to New England to face the No. 2 seed Patriots in the Divisional round (Saturday, 7:15 pm CT on CBS).

Corey Liuget, DE, San Diego Chargers - Started and had five tackles and a sack in the Chargers' 27-10 win at Cincinnati. The San Diego defense forced four turnovers in the game and shutout Andy Dalton and the Bengals offense in the second half to advance to the Divisional round, where the Chargers will travel to Denver to face the top-seeded Broncos (Sunday, 3:40 CT on CBS).
Glenn Foster, DL, New Orleans Saints - Saw action in the Saints' 26-24 victory at Philadelphia but did not record any stats. The Saints advanced to face the Seahawks in Seattle on Saturday (3:35 CT on FOX).
Pierre Thomas, RB, New Orleans Saints - Thomas, who led New Orleans in rushing (549 yards) and all NFL running backs in receptions (77) during the regular season, missed the Saints win over Eagles with a chest injury. His status for Saturday's Divisional game at Seattle (3:35 CT on FOX) is unknown.
AJ Jenkins, WR, Kansas City Chiefs - Jenkins saw plenty of action in the loss to the Colts and had one reception for 27 yards. The catch was a big one, giving the Chiefs a third-down conversion on a late scoring drive (watch it at the 6:21 mark of this video). The Chiefs were unable to hold on for the win, falling 45-44 in Indy.
Jeff Allen, OT, Kansas City Chiefs - Started and helped the Chiefs pile up 513 yards of total offense and score 44 points against the Colts, but it wasn't enough as Indianapolis overcame a 28-point deficit to win 45-44. Watch Allen (#71) hold his block on Alex Smith's 5-yard shovel pass TD.
Jon Asamoah, OG, Kansas City Chiefs - Played in the Chiefs loss to the Colts, helping the offense put up 44 points and 513 total yards.
In addition to the five former Illini that advanced out of the wildcard weekend, four more will take the field in next week's divisional round as the New England Patriots had a first-round bye. Defensive end Michael Buchanan, tight end Michael Hoomanawanui, defensive back Justin Green and defensive back Tavon Wilson will face off against former teammates Vontae Davis and Hugh Thornton when the Patriots battle the Colts on Saturday (7:15 pm CT on CBS)
