Hey there Illini fans!
It's an exciting time in Champaign as Thanksgiving break is right around the corner. A little break is definitely needed, and during this time, dormers get to move in with the girls living in apartments. We will have some great team bonding moments, and I can't wait to have some of them live with me, Jordan, and Kelsi.
As the weather is getting a little colder, things are really starting to heat up in the gym. We are all getting excited for season and we are counting down days until our very first intrasquad to start off our season! The team has been working hard and it makes me so proud to see our hard work paying off. We are ready to take on the upcoming season!
Not only are things picking up in the gym, but also in school. We are all getting ready for our final exams and everyone has been studying away. But before final exams, as mentioned above, we have our wonderful Thanksgiving break in which most of the girls will be heading home for a hearty Thanksgiving dinner.
Besides from being in the gym and class, our team has been volunteering at Kenwood Elementary School, and we are having a blast working with the cute kids! Jordan, Tori and I get the wonderful opportunity to wake up bright and early and work on some math problems with the kids. It's a great feeling to give back to the community as they support us all year round. Nonetheless, we enjoy working with the kids as much as they enjoy having us.
We have also been supporting other Illini Athletics, and everyone seems to be having an outstanding season. Congratulations to the Women's Soccer team for winning their first NCAA round against Washington State! Some of the girls also attended the volleyball game the other night, which of course we won! Unfortunately for football, this weekend wasn't what we wanted, but the team had fun attending the football game.
Love always, Sunny
