To all Illini Fans,

This week our golf team travelled to Kiawah, South Carolina to play in the Palmetto Intercollegiate Tournament hosted by the College of Charleston. After the brisk temperatures in our previous tournament, it was so nice to have a weekend to play golf in warm weather again.  Our team really enjoyed being in Kiawah for its beautiful ocean views and warmth. We also were very lucky to stay in a super nice 3-bedroom condo where we could all hang out as a team after the rounds and enjoy ourselves.

As for the golf course, Turtle Point, a Jack Nicklaus design, it was in very good condition and gave both opportunities to score low along with a couple very challenging holes. As a team we struggled a bit on a couple of the holes along the ocean (15,16) but played the majority of our rounds well. We all had some great attributes of our game show in each round and have positives to draw from the tournament despite placing 5th as a team (out of 19). After all, 4/5 of us placed in the top 30 with Ember Schuldt leading the way at 8-over par. So, although we did not have anyone go low I think that overall it was an okay finish for the season and one that will give us a positive outlook for Spring season as well as things to learn from/improve in the off season.

I am so proud of the team for the great fall season we have had and am confident that the spring season will bring even more amazing results. Off-season will be a time of improvement for everyone since we are all excited to break records by posting even more red numbers J

Have a good week!
