It's once again that time of year women's gym fans... It's time for Illini Ink - the journal that takes you behind the scenes. In this year's first edition, junior Kelsi Eberly talks about how preseason is going so far and the motivational 'word' of the season.

It's that time of the year again!! Your Illinois Gymnastics
team is back at it. After a quick and productive summer, everyone is on-campus
excited to be back on a schedule, including FIVE new freshmen. After losing four seniors, we are really
excited to have these girls here to begin their journeys as Illini student -athletes
and to contribute a great deal to our upcoming 2013-2014 season. Ending the
season last year ranked 11th in the nation has given us that
encouragement to get back to Nationals and show we can consistently be a top
We are in our second week of Pre-Season!! It's great to see
everyone working hard in and out of the gym to achieve the goals we have set
for this year. As always we began pre-season
by choosing a word with an "I" in it that keeps us determined all season long.
Our word for this year is LIMITLESS!
There will be no bar that we can't reach this year, No Limit. As always,
academics comes first, and we make sure that we are all accountable for making
sure to spend the necessary amount of time we need at the Irwin Academic Center.
We are all working very hard to get our best GPA yet!
Since it has been a few weeks since school actually started,
many other sporting events have kicked off their season. We all made it to the
women's volleyball game September 13th against Washington where we
fought four tough sets but unfortunately came out with a loss. We also made it
to both home football games at Memorial Stadium where we came out with two
WINS!!! This weekend is Dad's Weekend, which is always exciting to get a little
piece of home after the first few crazy weeks!
