Illini in the NFL Weekly Archive | Illini in the NFL Website
Former Illini offensive lineman Jack Cornell has had an incredible year. He graduated from the University of Illinois last fall, helped the Illini to a bowl victory last December, joined the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent last spring, got engaged over the summer, and now he's become a Super Bowl Champion.
Though he
never played a down during the season, there's no doubt that Cornell deserves
his Super Bowl ring. As a member of the Ravens practice squad all season,
Cornell helped prepare both the offense and the defense for what they would
face each week. Though he wasn't in uniform for Baltimore's thrilling 34-31 win
over the 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII, Cornell was there on the sidelines at the
Superdome and was in the locker room celebrating with his teammates and the
Vince Lombardi Trophy after the game.
There's no doubt Cornell enjoyed the Super Bowl experience. Check out a couple of his tweets since the Ravens victory:

Fellow
rookie A.J. Jenkins was on the losing end of Super Bowl XLVII. Jenkins saw
playing time in the game, but did not record any stats.
