Members of the Fighting Illini women's basketball team visited Stratton elementary school in Champaign on Thursday morning. After a great welcome from the students as the Illini players were introduced, each player chose a student to shoot a few hoops with, then the kids showed off their vocal cords with a great back-and-forth I-L-L I-N-I chant.

Taylor Tuck reminded the students to stay active and play sports, Sarah Hartwell stressed the importance of healthy eating and Amber Moore encouraged the kids to be dedicated to the activities they commit to.

All of the kids had a great time and did an excellent job of paying attention while the Illini players spoke to them. Kierra Morris finished the assembly with a reminder to the kids to come to the "Pack the Hall" game on January 13. It was hard to tell who enjoyed the assembly more, the kids or the Illini players!
