Each week the Illini in the NFL update will provide
coverage on how former Fighting Illini football players fared during the
previous weekend. Tavon Wilson and Brandon Lloyd highlighted Week 4 with standout
plays, while rookie Jeff Allen made his first career NFL start.
Brandon Lloyd, WR, New England Patriots - Lloyd had 3 receptions totaling for 50 yards, including a diving 25-yard touchdown catch from Tom Brady, in the Patriots' 52-28 victory over the Bills. Through four games, Lloyd is tied for the team lead with 25 receptions. Watch Lloyd's Diving TD Catch
Tavon Wilson, FS, New England Patriots - Made his second career interception in the Patriots' 52-28 win over the Bills and also recorded two tackles, a pass deflection and a fumble recovery. Josh Brent, DT, Dallas Cowboys - Recorded four tackles and got to Jay Cutler one time for
the sack in the Cowboys 34-18 loss to the Bears. Watch

Corey Liuget, DE, San Diego Chargers - Started at defensive end recovered
a fumble and recorded one assisted tackle in the Chargers' 37-20 win over the
Chiefs. Watch

Alan Ball, CB, Houston Texans - Tallied three tackles and forced a fumble in the Texans'
38-14 win of the Titans.
Steve Weatherford, P, New York Giants - Punted five times for an average
of 44.4 yards, including a long of 60 and two inside the 20, in a 19-17 loss to
the Eagles.
Mikel Leshoure, RB, Detroit Lions - Had four receptions for a
career-high 37 yards and also rushed for 26 yards on 13 carries in the Lions
20-13 loss to the Vikings.
Pierre Thomas, RB, New Orleans Saints - Had nine carries for 14 yards and
also caught two passes in a 28-27 loss to the Packers.
Jeff Cumberland, TE, New York Jets - Had four receptions for 17 yards
with a long of nine yards in the Jets' 34-0 loss to the 49'ers.
Arrelious Benn, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Had three receptions for 18 yards
and also tallied his first rushing attempt of the season for five yards. The
Bucs lost the Redskins 24-22.
Jon Asamoah, OG, Kansas City Chiefs - Started at right guard and helped the Chiefs rush
for 119 yards in a 37-20 loss to the Chargers.
Brit Miller, FB, St. Louis Rams - Miller earned his first start of the season at
fullback in the Rams 19-13 win over the Seahawks.
Michael Hoomanawanui, TE, New England Patriots - Started in his second consecutive
game in the Patriots 52-28 win over the Bills.
Jeff Allen, OL, Kansas City Chiefs - Made his first career start at left guard and helped the
Chiefs rush for 119 yards in a 37-20 loss to the Chargers.
Martez Wilson, LB, New Orleans Saints - Totaled two tackles in the Saints'
28-27 loss to the Packers
Kelvin Hayden, CB, Chicago Bears - Had one tackle in the Bears 34-18
win over the Cowboys on Monday Night Football.
Brandon Moore, OG, New York Jets - Started at right guard, his 125th
consecutive start, in the Jets' 34-0 loss to the 49'ers.
Whitney Mercilus, DE, Houston Texans - Played linebacker for the Texans
and recorded one tackle in a 38-14 victory over the Titans.
AJ Jenkins, WR, San Francisco 49ers - Did not play in the 49ers 34-0 win over the Jets.
David Diehl, OT, New York Giants - Was inactive for the Giants 19-17 loss to the Eagles due
to injury.
Rashard Mendenhall, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers - Bye week.
Vontae Davis, CB, Indianapolis Colts - Bye week.
