    Chip Shots with Samantha Postillion

    The past week and a half our team played in back to back tournaments. First, we went to Tulsa, Okla., to play in the Dale McNamara Invitational and just two days after went to University of Michigan to play in the Wolverine Invitational.

    Hi Illini Fans, 

    This past weekend we were in Fort Collins, Colo., for our season-opening Colonel Wollenberg's Ram Classic hosted by Colorado State University. The Ptarmigan Country Club was in perfect condition and all the staff and volunteers were very welcoming. We were hosted by three lovely families: Joan and Mike Koltak, Paul and Ande Havenar, and George and Kathy Burnham. I, along with Sam, Jackie, and Michelle, stayed at the Burnham's and nothing can beat their beautiful view of the lake in the morning right by their backyard.

    The Fighting Illini opened 2012 fall practice Tuesday under sweltering conditions but with many familiar faces. Illinois welcomes back 17 letter winners, including seven starters in the field and all three pitchers who formed the weekend rotation over the last half of the 2012 Big Ten season.
