The Fighting Illini held workout No. 22 on Friday morning on the grass practice fields just east of Memorial Stadium. The Illini were in full pads and continued preparation for the Sept. 1 season-opener against Western Michigan. A crew from the Big Ten Network show "The Journey: Big Ten Football 2012" was on hand to get up close footage for the behind-the-scenes show.
For the first time, BTN's Emmy-nominated Journey series chronicles the
Big Ten Football season with behind the scenes access and feature
stories surrounding moments and events taking place on and off the
field. The show airs Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. CT on the Big Ten Network starting on Oct. 3.
While this will mark the first time The Journey covers the entire conference for a football season, Illini fans will remember the 2008 version of the show, "Illini Football: The Journey". That year, the show featured behind-the-scenes access of the Fighting Illini for the entire season.
