The Illini had a busy Sunday, wrapping up Camp Rantoul with a morning practice before returning to Champaign for Media Day and Fan Appreciation Day. The team had a two-hour workout in helmets, shoulder pads and shorts during their final practice at Camp Rantoul, then returned to Memorial Stadium where they went through 90 minutes of photos and interviews before signing autographs for an hour in the Great West Hall.

When the Illini returned to Champaign, where they'll spend the rest of Training Camp leading up to the season-opener on Sept. 1, they posed for the team photo, class photos, position group photos, recruiting area photos and individual photos on a cloudy and cool day at Memorial Stadium. Several players also did interviews with the over 25 media members on hand. Coach Beckman also had a 30 minute press conference where he talked about training camp and the upcoming season.
Following media day, the Illini signed autographs at Fan Appreciation Day in the Great West Hall. It's estimated that over 1,000 fans showed up for the hour long event, which was also the first opportunity for fans to walk and play on the new Memorial Stadium FieldTurf surface.
